United24 collects more than UAH 510 mln for drones for AFU - Fedorov
Ukrainians have collected more than UAH 510 million for drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as part of the United24 project, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said.
"For part of this amount, we agreed to purchase 60 Matrice multicopters. These drones record video, have built-in artificial intelligence, clearly focus on a target and determine potential danger from a distance," Fedorov wrote on Telegram on Monday evening.
He also noted that the government is negotiating further purchases of powerful drones with Ukrainian and international manufacturers (the USA, Germany, Portugal, Japan and Israel).
"Within the framework of the Army of Drones comprehensive program, you donate and acquire drones for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our team checks, repairs and quickly replaces damaged drones. The military are systematically trained in controlling drones in order to then perform tasks on the front line," Fedorov emphasized.
He also thanked Ukrainians for their donations.
