National police blocks withdrawal of assets of more than 7,000 companies with ties to Russia – Enin

The National Police of Ukraine has blocked the withdrawal of assets of more than 7,000 companies that had economic relations with the Russian Federation and Belarus, First Deputy Interior Minister Yevhen Enin has said.

"The Department of Strategic Investigations, Combating Economic Crime and Financing of Terrorism from the Russian Federation does not allow legalizing the funds of structures associated with Russia or Belarus. In just the last two months, more than 7,000 residents who had economic relations with Russia or Belarus have been put under financial control, which prevented the withdrawal of funds in the amount of up to UAH 200 billion to these countries," Enin said during the national telethon.

According to him, the assets of these companies totaling about UAH 21 billion have been seized.

"We dealt a preemptive strike against Russian oligarchs by seizing the securities of their banking institutions for a total of UAH 12 billion. There is also a very long list of objects seized," Enin said.
