Pentagon believes that AFU are able to restore control over territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia - CNN
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have the necessary capabilities to return all territories that were temporarily occupied by Russia under the control of Kyiv, the American television channel CNN reports, citing a senior Pentagon official.
"The Ukrainian military has been trying to take back territories occupied by the Russians over the past few days," a senior U.S. defense official said, calling them [the Ukrainian military] 'able and willing" to do so.
It said also that the American official gave examples of how the Ukrainians fought for the return of Kherson, and also ousted Russian forces from the northeast of Mykolaiv, due to which the latter were forced to redeploy south of the city.
At the same time, the journalists add that their interlocutor at the Pentagon said that the Ukrainian defense was "agile" and "dexterous."
