Zelensky talks with Pope, Ukraine would welcome mediating role of Holy See
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Pope Francis discussed the humanitarian situation and the blocking of "green corridors" by Russian troops, Ukraine would welcome the mediating role of the Holy See in ending human suffering.
"I spoke with Pope Francis. I told His Holiness about the difficult humanitarian situation and the blocking of rescue corridors by Russian troops. We would welcome the mediating role of the Holy See in ending human suffering. I thanked for the prayers for Ukraine and the world," Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
