Peace talks not easy and unpleasant, but they are necessary – Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, during which he spoke, among other things, about finding solutions for peace.
"We talked about our interaction, about finding a solution for the world, for the liberation of our territories. To save our people," he said in a video message on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
"I am sure you understand that negotiations are not easy and unpleasant. But they are necessary. For this is about life," the president said.
Ukraine, he said, has always sought a peaceful solution. "Moreover, we are interested in the world now. Because we count every person killed. For it is for us that every destroyed family, every destroyed house matters. Because we are Ukrainians, and a person is priceless for us," Zelensky said.
