Over 180,000 citizens of Ukraine rescued through humanitarian corridors – Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Saturday night that more than 180,000 Ukrainian citizens have already been evacuated and rescued through humanitarian corridors.
"Today, seven humanitarian corridors have been operating in Ukraine. Six from Sumy region, one in Donetsk. More than 9,000 people have been evacuated from besieged Mariupol. In general, more than 180,000 citizens of Ukraine have already been rescued during the operation of the humanitarian corridors," Zelensky said.
Also, according to him, hundreds of tonnes of the most necessary products have already been delivered to Ukraine. But at the same time, the occupiers continue to block the delivery of humanitarian supplies in most directions to the cities surrounded by them.
"This is an absolutely conscious tactic. They have a clear order to do everything so that the humanitarian catastrophe in Ukrainian cities turns into an argument for Ukrainians – to cooperate with the occupiers. This is a war crime, and they will be responsible for it," he added.
