Scholz in conversation with Putin calls on Russia to cease fire in Ukraine
German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz discussed the war in Ukraine and efforts to end it during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
"The chancellor called on the Russian president for an early ceasefire, improvement of the humanitarian situation and progress in finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict," the press service of the German government said.
It is noted that the conversation between Scholz and Putin lasted almost an hour.
