Some 273,000 households in Ukraine without gas, heat – Naftogaz head
Some 273,000 households are without gas and heat due to military aggression from the Russian Federation, head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy Yuriy Vitrenko has said.
"Now over 273,000 households of Ukrainian families are in a situation where they cannot get gas and heat, which takes their lives beyond the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe," he told a press conference in Lviv on Friday.
According to him, this is due to constant damage to infrastructure, while the country has the necessary resource in the form of current production and reserves in underground storage facilities to meet the needs of the population in gas and heat.
"We have no problems with the gas resource to meet the needs of the population. The problem is with the infrastructure that Russian aggression is deliberately destroying," he said.
Vitrenko noted that the repair teams are doing everything possible to quickly carry out repairs of damaged infrastructure, including in Russia-occupied areas of the country.
