Blinken, Çavuşoğlu discuss diplomatic efforts to resolve situation in Ukraine – Department of State
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu discussed by phone the situation in Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation in this country on Wednesday, the U.S. Department of State said.
"Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu discussed the Kremlin's war against Ukraine and ongoing diplomatic efforts to stop President Putin’s war of choice," the Department of State said in a press release.
As noted in the document, Blinken provided his Turkish counterpart with an update on U.S. support for the people of Ukraine, as well as efforts to follow up on Russia.
In addition, the U.S. Secretary of State thanked Ankara "for its commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as Turkey’s efforts to assist Ukraine in its time of need."
