Zelensky to Russians: How does your siege of Mariupol differ from siege of Leningrad during Second World War?
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in a video statement on Thursday night, asked the Russians how their siege of Mariupol differs from the siege of Leningrad during the Second World War.
"In the besieged Mariupol, Russian aviation purposefully dropped a super-powerful air bomb on the Drama Theater in the city center. Hundreds of people were hiding there from shelling. The number of killed is not yet known. My heart is breaking from what Russia is doing with our people, with our Mariupol, with our Donetsk region. Citizens of Russia! How does your siege of Mariupol differ from the siege of Leningrad during the Second World War?" Zelensky said.
According to the president, Ukraine will never forget those whose lives were taken by the Russian occupiers.
"We will not forgive a single murdered soul. Eternal memory to all the victims of this terror. To all the victims of the war unleashed by Russia," the president said.
