Some 17 employees of SES killed, 32 injured, 1 in captivity - department
The State Emergency Service says that 17 rescuers were killed, 32 injured and 1 captured during active hostilities.
"Unfortunately, as a result of hostilities, there are losses among the personnel of the State Emergency Service. A total of 17 people were killed, 32 were injured and one person is in captivity - this is the captain, who on March 11 took part in the evacuation of civilian population in the village of Hostomel," Colonel of the State Emergency Service Hennadiy Herasymchuk said at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
According to him, today 14,000 people and 3,000 units of special fire and rescue equipment of the State Emergency Service are on duty around the clock.
