Rada recognizes territorial defense volunteers as participants in hostilities – law
The Verkhovna Rada has recognized the volunteers of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as participants in hostilities.
Relevant bill No. 7151 has been adopted at the final reading, the Verkhovna Rada website reports.
According to an explanatory note to the bill, with the start of Russian military aggression against Ukraine, volunteers of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to be actively involved in ensuring the defense of Ukraine, protecting the population and interests of the state.
Therefore, in the conditions of the military invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor and in order to strengthen the ability to defend the fatherland, it became necessary to recognize the volunteers of the Terrorist Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as war veterans at the legislative level.
As previously reported, 344 MPs voted for this bill.
