Macron does not rule out exclusion of Gazprombank, Sberbank from SWIFT, embargo on energy resources
French President Emmanuel Macron said he does not rule out the exclusion of another group of Russian banks from the SWIFT system and the embargo on oil and gas from Russia.
"Nothing that you said is prohibited," he said at a press conference in Versailles, answering a question from a journalist who asked if the EU could decide in the future to cut Sberbank and Gazprombank off SWIFT and impose an embargo on Russian oil and gas.
Macron said the further sanctions policy of the EU countries will depend on the development of events in Ukraine.
