EU promises to help rebuild Ukraine after war ends
The leaders of the EU countries announced their intention to continue supporting Ukraine and help it recover from Russian aggression.
The EU and its member states will continue to provide coordinated political, financial, material and humanitarian support, an informal EU summit in Versailles said in a statement on Friday.
The document emphasizes the determination to support the restoration of democratic Ukraine after Russian hostilities in the country end.
The heads of state and government of the EU countries also declared their determination to "further intensify ... pressure on Russia and Belarus."
We have imposed serious sanctions and remain ready to quickly impose new ones, the European leaders said in a statement.
