On Friday morning, there were also explosions, the airport was attacked in Ivano-Frankivsk, Mayor Ruslan Martsynkiv said.
"The enemy has struck at Frankivsk. There were explosions in Frankivsk. The military and the State Emergency Service are working. We are looking into why the alarm system did not work. Details will be provided further. Respond to the sirens. Do not distribute photos and videos of explosions!" the mayor wrote on Facebook.
"There were explosions at our airport. Remain calm, the relevant services are working. Residents of the district Opryshyvtsiv, Krykhovtsiyev and others - if possible, leave the airport area. Traffic was temporarily restricted near the airport," Martsynkiv said in a video message.
