Stefanchuk appeals to IAEA, UN, NATO, European Parliament, European Commission to help over threat of nuclear disaster from Russia
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk appealed to the IAEA, the UN, NATO, the European Parliament and the European Commission for help due to the threat of a nuclear disaster from Russia.
"Russia creates a real danger of a global nuclear disaster by attacks on Ukraine's nuclear facilities. To eliminate the threat of a nuclear catastrophe, he sent an appeal to the IAEA, the UN, NATO, the European Parliament, the European Commission with a call for help. He asked to contact NATO member countries to approve the decision to introduce the zone prohibition of access/closure of the territory (A2/AD zone) over Ukraine as soon as possible," he said on his Facebook page.
The chairman also called on the world community to help Ukrainian authorities regain control over Chornobyl nuclear power plant.
He said the critical situation that has developed at Chornobyl NPP as a result of the actions of the Russian military threatens the security of Europe and the world.
