USA can't protect Ukraine using 'Irone Dome,' continues eying expansion of military assistance – U.S. official
Deployment of the Iron Dome air defense system in Ukraine is fraught with significant difficulties, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland has said during a hearing in the Senate on Ukraine.
In response to a question from one of the senators, Nuland explained that the deployment of the Iron Dome could be difficult because it would require a lot of preparation and training.
At the same time, according to her, the possibility of using other air defense systems is being considered.
Nuland said the United States continues to study the possibility of expanding military assistance to Ukraine to tighten sanctions against Russia.
She also said that the United States "should consider" the issue of including Russia in the U.S. list of sponsors of terrorism.
