Zakarpattia receives over half million IDPs - head of region
Over half a million internally displaced persons arrived in Zakarpattia, fleeing the war and the occupier, head of Zakarpattia regional military administration Viktor Mykyta said on his Telegram channel.
According to him, part of the migrants went to European countries, while others received asylum in the region.
"No one was left on the street, everyone was fed, warmed, provided with medical and psychological assistance, and guaranteed security," Mykyta said.
He said that at present all available sites in the region are used to help the IDPs.
"Effective management at all levels, the titanic work of thousands of people throughout the region ensures the fulfillment of tasks that the state and circumstances have set for us today. Thank you to everyone for their personal and collective contribution to this enormous work," the head of Zakarpattia wrote.
