Chernihiv not to centrally create evacuation columns until decision on green corridor made – authorities

Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Chaus has said that the region will not evacuate residents until the green corridor is approved.

"Today the city is ready for defense. The military repelled a lot of enemy attacks... If there is a green corridor, we organize a centralized removal of children. Until the creation of the green corridor confirmed by the authorities, there is a technical exit from the city. But this is solely at the discretion of each person, which is staying in Chernihiv," Chaus said in a video message posted on the Telegram channel.

He said: "We will not create columns centrally until the green corridor is approved, since there is a big risk that these columns will be broken."

The head of the Regional Military Administration urged residents to stay in the city in hiding places and wait for further instructions.
