The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, is prepared to visit Chornobyl.
"I have indicated to both the Russian Federation and Ukraine my availability and disposition to travel to Chernobyl as soon as possible," European media quoted him as saying.
He said both sides were looking at the proposal.
Grossi said he hoped such a visit would help resolve the issue of safety at nuclear sites in Ukraine.
