Borrell calls on Russia to immediately stop hostilities: shelling of ZNPP could threaten entire Europe
Russia must immediately stop the fighting in the areas of nuclear power plants in Ukraine, head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said on Friday.
"Russian attacks in the direct vicinity of Ukraine's nuclear power plants can have catastrophic consequences. They must stop immediately," Borrell said on Twitter.
He noted that the shelling and the resulting fire at Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant could endanger whole Europe.
Borrell also said that he asked the UN Security Council to support Ukraine.
