Kuleba: Not everyone in EU enthusiastic about idea of granting Ukraine status of candidate country, but Kyiv pressing on all fronts
Not everyone in the EU is enthusiastic about the idea of granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country, but Ukraine is pressing on all fronts, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"We are working on this right now. A few days ago it was impossible to imagine in principle that the issue of Ukraine's membership in the EU would be resolved. Now we are in a new reality. Definitely, Ukraine will be a member of the EU. The Europeans must now build the process correctly. I will not say that everyone in the EU is already delighted with this idea, because there were long-term skeptic talks about this. But we are systematically pressing on all fronts, we know who to work with in order to speed up this process as much as possible," Kuleba said on the air of the national telethon on Thursday.
