Poroshenko calls on world leaders to come to Kyiv for Ukraine solidarity march
The leader of the European Solidarity political party, Ukraine's fifth President Petro Poroshenko, has called on the leaders of friendly countries to come to Kyiv for the March of Solidarity with Ukraine.
"I call on the leaders of the EU countries, the United States, Canada, and other friendly countries to come to Kyiv and take part in the March of Unity and Solidarity with Ukraine," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
He is convinced that this would be a powerful signal of support for the Ukrainian people in these difficult times.
“Ukraine did the same when our friends needed solidarity. In 2008, our President, together with a number of colleagues, visited Tbilisi, when the Georgian capital was under the threat of Russian bombing and invasion,” Poroshenko said.
