Defense of Kyiv is Ukraine's key priority – Zelensky

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video statement on Tuesday afternoon that the defense of Kyiv is a key priority for Ukraine.

"Kharkiv and Kyiv are now the most important goals for Russia. Terror aimed at breaking us, in order to break our resistance. They are coming to our capital in the same way as to Kharkiv. Therefore, the defense of the capital is a key priority for the state today," Zelensky said.

He said that in all cities Ukraine must do everything possible to stop the enemy, the military and civil authorities of each city are responsible for this.

"But Kyiv is special. We will protect Kyiv, we will protect the state. Kyiv is the heart of our country. It must beat. And it will beat," the president said.
