UK repeats U.S. sanctions against Russia's Sberbank – ban on settlements, general license for energy until June
The UK repeated U.S. sanctions against Russia's Sberbank, banning settlements in its currency.
The ban on correspondent accounts and clearing in pounds sterling was introduced from March 1, according to a notice from the government of the UK.
According to the document, the sanctions are not blocking (the United States also did not freeze the assets of Russia's largest credit institution).
Like the US OFAC, its UK counterpart, OFSI, issued a general license that allows the completion of energy financing operations with Sberbank by June 24.
