Ukrainian aviation authorities recommend performing no flights over Black Sea open waters on Feb 14-19
Ukraine has officially published air navigation information on activating the potentially unsafe area in the airspace over the Black Sea open waters from February 14 to February 19.
The airlines have been advised not to perform flights over this area for a certain period of time starting on Monday, and to plan optimal routes in advance taking into account the current situation, Head of the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) Andriy Yarmak said on Facebook on Sunday.
"We note that this recommendation does not block flights over the Black Sea as a whole. The airspace over the territory of Ukraine is open and available for flight planning. Flight safety is ensured at the proper level in accordance with international regulations and standards!" he said.
