Canada imposes sanctions on Russian individuals, companies building Crimean Bridge
Canada has imposed sanctions on two Russian individuals and four companies which are involved in the construction of the Crimean Bridge, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said.
"The Honorable Marc Garneau, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced new sanctions against 2 individuals and 4 entities [...] in response to Russia's illegal occupation and annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Canada has sanctioned the First Crimean Insurance Company, Crimea Railway, Lenpromtransproyekt, the Berkakit-Tommot-Yakutsk Railway Line's Construction Directorate, Grand Service Express CEO Alexander Ganov, and StroyGazMontazh Deputy CEO for Infrastructure Projects Leonid Ryzhenkin.
These sanctions impose asset freezes and prohibitions on dealings in Canada.
Earlier, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the European Union imposed sanctions on these four companies, Ganov, and Ryzhenkin.
