Crimean resident sentenced to six years in prison for participating in 'Ukrainian National Battalion' – media

 In Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, Medzhit Ablyamitov, who was accused of participating in the "Ukrainian national battalion," has been sentenced to six years in a maximum security colony, Radio Liberty has reported.

"On March 23, a court in the Russian-occupied Crimea, sentenced Medzhit Ablyamitov to six years in a maximum security colony with restraint of freedom for one year, who was accused of participating in the 'Ukrainian national battalion,'" the publication's website says.

It is noted that during the announcement of the verdict in the hall of Kirovsky District Court, Ablyamitov's brother and sister were allowed to be present.

The prosecution side requested eight years and a half in prison for Ablyamitov.
