The press service for Almaty International Airport has confirmed the crash of an Antonov An-26 military aircraft.
"Contact with the An-26 aircraft heading from Nur-Sultan to Almaty was lost at 5:20 p.m. It crashed at the front of the runway while approaching landing, on its final approach," the press service told Interfax.
According to preliminary information, six people were onboard the plane, it said.
