Zelensky: we have no right to sell controlling stakes in strategic defense enterprises to other countries
The Ukrainian state cannot afford to sell a controlling stake of strategic defense enterprises of Ukraine to the management by any country, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
The president said that the question is not in China. The question is not even how the shares of Motor Sich were bought during the time of the former president, during the time of Poroshenko. The question is that Ukraine has no right to sell the controlling stake for managing strategic defense enterprises of Ukraine to any country.
"Not under me. I am not here for life... [But] in my time [in office], definitely not," Zelensky said in an interview with U.S. Axios aired on the HBO platform.
Motor Sich PJSC is one of the world's largest manufacturers of engines for aviation equipment, as well as industrial gas turbine units. It supplies products to more than 100 countries around the world.
