Daily COVID-19 count rising in Ukraine, 6,409 new cases reported in past 24 hours
Ukraine registered 6,409 new COVID-19 cases, 14,503 recoveries, and 195 deaths in the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said.
"Ukraine registered 6,409 new COVID-19 cases as of January 13, 2021. In particular, the virus was contracted by 187 children and 367 medical workers. Over the past day, 2,564 persons were hospitalized, 195 died, and 14,503 recovered," Stepanov said on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
Ukraine reported 5,116 contagions on January 12, some 4,288 on January 11, some 5,011 on January 10, some 4,846 on January 9, some 5,676 on January 8, some 8,997 on January 7, and 6,911 on January 6.
The overall coronavirus rate reached 1,130,839 on Wednesday morning, including 20,214 deaths and 826,871 recoveries.
Over the past day, most new cases were reported from Kyiv (906), Zaporizhia region (529), Kharkiv region (521), Odesa region (513), and Poltava region (356).
