Ukraine may introduce quarantine earlier than Jan 8 if situation with COVID-19 worsens - Radutsky

Tightened restrictions may be introduced in Ukraine earlier than January 8 if the situation with the spread of coronavirus worsens, said Mykhailo Radutsky, head of the parliamentary committee for the nation's health, medical care and health insurance.

"Nobody says that it will be on January 8. If the situation worsens, the government can warn about other dates seven days in advance (...) Nobody will wait for January 8. I think January 8 will be the peak load - New Year will give increase, we will not get away from this," said Radutsky on the air of the Right to Power program on the 1 + 1 TV channel on Thursday evening.

According to him, forecasts indicate that December will be held with indicators in the range of 16,000 cases of coronavirus per day.

Radutsky also noted that the Cabinet of Ministers will be able to choose a new date for strengthening quarantine and warn about it seven days before its introduction.
