Biolik denies production of Russia's coronavirus vaccine
JSC Biolik (Kharkiv) has officially denied the information that it has embraced the production technology of the finished form of the Sputnik V coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, which was developed in Russia.
"JSC Biolik, as a national manufacturer of vaccines, is technically capable of producing a vaccine against coronavirus, but only with its state registration in Ukraine. At the moment Biolik has not signed any contracts, has not received any transfer technologies regarding the production of the Sputnik V vaccine, or any other vaccines against COVID-19, and has never produced such vaccines at the company's technological base," the company said in a statement on the official website.
The company also emphasizes that JSC Biolik carries out production activities only in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, according to which the production of any drug is possible only after its state registration.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian agency Interfax (Interfax.ru) issued a statement of head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev that RDIF is ready to produce the Sputnik V vaccine in Ukraine and such production has been made possible by one company, Biolik.
