Local authorities receiving more authority, responsibility than before – Rada chairman

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov has expressed the hope that during the elections on Sunday, the citizens of Ukraine will elect a worthy local government.

"I think that my hopes are the same as those of every person who came today to vote for this or that political force: for normal power to come in every district. Today, during the decentralization reform there are many powers and money, as well as the responsibilities that are transferred to the localities, and it is important that the authorities understand why they are coming, what they will do, and be responsible for their actions," Razumkov told reporters on Sunday in Kyiv after casting his vote.
