Record of daily mortality and recovery from COVID-19 beaten in Ukraine, 5,469 people fall ill per day - NSDC

5,469 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Ukraine as of Tuesday morning, October 20, according to data on the website of the National Security and Defense Council's Coronavirus Epidemic Monitoring System.

At the same time, 3,044 recovered in a day, and 113 previously ill patients died. Both indicators are the highest since the beginning of the pandemic.

On October 19, 4,766 cases were reported per day, on October 18 - about 5,231, and on October 17, a record figure was recorded - 6,410 COVID-19 cases per day.

The number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic was 309,107 people on Tuesday morning, 5 786 people died from COVID-19, and 129 533 recovered.

Now in Ukraine, 173,788 people are sick with COVID-19, which is 2,312 more than the day before. The maximum daily increase in the number of active cases of the disease was recorded on October 17 - by 4,107 people.

The largest number of detected cases of COVID-19 over the past day was recorded in Kyiv (462), Kharkiv (446) and Zhytomyr (376) regions. The most recovered are in Ternopil (384) and Odesa (325) regions. Most of the deaths per day are in Kyiv (17), Lviv (13), Dnipropetrovsk (11) and Poltava (10) regions.

In Odesa, Ternopil and Rivne regions, over the past day, a decrease in the number of infected was recorded due to the excess of the number of recovered over the number of new cases per day, in other regions and in Kyiv it increased.

Also over the past day, 6,039 suspicions of COVID-19 were registered.
