Zelensky: We are ready to swap Vyshinsky for Sentsov, but want all our detainees back
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sys that Kyiv is ready to release Kirill Vyshinsky, the detained editor-in-chief of RIA Novosti Ukraine, if the Russian Federation is ready to simultaneously free Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov.
"If we are talking about goodwill, and we really want this to happen soon, we are ready to swap Vyshinsky. For Sentsov, for example. We are ready to exchange them for Sentsov, but this is not a bargaining chip," Zelensky told reporters in Kyiv on Friday morning, answering a respective question.
The president stressed that the ultimate goal of Ukraine is the return all prisoners, political prisoners and Ukrainian servicemen held in Russia. "If these are the first steps, we are ready," he added.
