Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada on Monday.
"I'm going to dissolve the 8th Verkhovna Rada," Zelensky said in his address to the people of Ukraine after he took the oath in parliament.
Before that, he asked deputies to adopt a number of urgent laws and to dismiss the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, the prosecutor general, and the defense minister within two months.
