Security increased at Ukrainian border, check points in Donbas working as usual - Ukraine's State Border Service
Around 8,000 border guards are present along Ukraine's border and at 157 crossing points today, Ukrainian State Border Service deputy head Yuriy Hresko said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.
"The State Border Service is taking additional security measures along the border today. Some 8,000 people are guarding the border. They are fulfilling their duties both on the state border and at 157 crossing points," he said.
Checkpoints along the contact line with Donetsk and Luhansk regions have been operating as usual in the past 24 hours, permitting the passage of 43,000 people, Hresko said.
The situation on the administrative border with Crimea is under control and no incidents have been reported there, Hresko said. There is no information that the procedures for people crossing the administrative border have changed.
