Day of voting to elect Ukrainian president was generally quiet – Interior ministry
The day of voting to elect the President of Ukraine was generally quiet, without gross violations, the police will vigorously continue its efforts to policing, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine has reported.
"There will not be fewer law enforcement officers on the streets of cities until the transportation of the protocols is complete," Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Kniazev said at a briefing in Kyiv on Sunday evening.
According to him, the polling stations in Ukraine closed on time and without violations, at 8:40 pm the last polling station was closed.
"There were no high profile incidents... The [policing] tasks were fulfilled," First Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Yarovy said on Sunday evening.
According to him, the staff of the Interior Ministry will continue its efforts to policing, and the safe delivery of ballots will be ensured.
