Nord captain did not travel to Crimea, cross Ukraine-Russia border – Slobodian
Captain of Kerch-registered Nord vessel detained by Ukraine's State Border Guard Service Vladimir Gorbenko did not officially cross the Ukraine-Russia state border or the administrative border with Crimea occupied by Russia, State Border Guard Service Spokesman Oleh Slobodian has said.
"We have seen reports and are studying them comprehensively. But it can be officially stated now that … this citizen did not cross the border," Slobodian said.
Earlier on Monday, Gorbenko, who has not contacted lawyers since the end of January 2019, gave an interview to the Moscow-based Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, saying he is currently in Crimea.
As earlier reported, on January 29, 2019, Gorbenko's brother, a resident of Melitopol in Zaporizhia region, reported his brother missing.
