Martial law in Ukraine could be introduced for up to 60 days, could be terminated at any time – NSDC secretary
The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) unanimously supported the proposal of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to introduce martial law for the period of up to 60 days, NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said, the press service of the NSDC reported in the early hours of Monday morning, November 26.
Turchynov said that actions of the Russian Federation against ships of the Ukrainian Navy are armed aggression against Ukraine, as described in clauses c and d of Article 3 of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314 on Definition of Aggression dated December 14, 1974.
He said that martial law could be terminated at any time.
"If the situation returns to normal, martial law could be terminated at any time," Turchynov told reporters on Monday in Kyiv.
