Ukraine's parliament to gather on Monday to consider introduction of martial law
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, will gather for a special meeting on Monday to consider the introduction of martial law in the country, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has announced.
"The Military Cabinet has turned to me with a proposal as for tabling a motion for [this] NSDC [National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine] meeting – to prepare a decision on imposing martial law and ask the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to consider the draft decision at its extraordinary meeting tomorrow if possible," Poroshenko said at a NSDC meeting in Kyiv in the early hours of Monday, November 26.
