Date of unifying council of Orthodox Church in Ukraine in Dec 2018 to be announced by Ecumenical Patriarchate's Synod
The specific date of the unifying council of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine in December 2018 will be approved and declared by the synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the press service of the Constantinople Patriarchate has reported.
"During the preparation of the Most High and the Holy Synod on November 27-29, 2018, the Ecumenical Patriarchate confirms its decision to grant tomos to Autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. At a time when the process of preparation for the Holy Council (Cathedral) of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine is underway, its specific date in December 2018 will be presented for confirmation and announcement by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate," the message posted on the Fanar on Monday says.
Earlier, according to media reports, the council was planned for November 22.
