Poroshenko, Merkel discuss threat of escalation in the Sea of Azov
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel in Kyiv have discussed the situation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, the presidential website has said.
"We've also discussed the threat of escalation in the waters of the Azov Sea and the Kerch Strait. We are making every effort to ensure that the Russian side strictly observes international law," Poroshenko said at a joint briefing with Merkel after their meeting in Kyiv on Thursday, November 1.
