Almost 10,000 ceasefire violations recorded in Donbas last week
The total number of ceasefire violations in Donbas has already exceeded 240,000, Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine Alexander Hug has said.
"We in fact recorded almost 10,000 ceasefire violations last week, bringing the total so far this year to over 240,000," Hug said at a briefing via Skype from Donetsk on Friday.
According to him, the SMM observed 67 proscribed heavy weapons in violation of agreed withdrawal lines.
Hug also drew attention to the need for mine clearance in the region.
