Lukashenko, Poroshenko to hold meeting at Belarus-Ukraine regional forum
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the plenary session of the first Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine, which will be held in Gomel on Friday, the presidential press service of Belarus has reported.
"President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is expected to attend this event, as well. Prior to participating in and speaking at the main platform of the forum, the heads of state will meet one-on-one. The main focus at their talks will be the development of trade-economic and investment cooperation between the two countries through the prism of potential of direct contacts at the level of regions," the press service said.
At the end of the forum, the sides are expected to sign documents and agreements aimed at promoting interaction in all of the areas in which Belarus and Ukraine cooperate, it said.
