Poroshenko says Ukraine getting prepared to repel military aggression coming from Sea of Azov
Ukraine is getting prepared to repel a Russian aggression from sea, specifically, from the Sea of Azov, President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"We are getting ready to repel a Russian aggression from sea in the Sea of Azov area. Powder should be kept ready," Poroshenko said during a ceremony where the students of Kyiv's Ivan Bohun Military Lyceum swore a solemn oath on Sunday.
Poroshenko went on to reveal that he had visited Mariupol to attend a comprehensive tactical exercise of the coastal defense forces on Friday. He hailed a high level of combat readiness of Ukraine's Navy, "Marine Corps, armor units, artillery and crews of bombers, fighter jets and strike helicopters."
Poroshenko also praised the skillful action by Navy ships and boats, border guards, the National Guard, the Air Force, artillery and engineer troops that "met the simulated enemy naval assault with stiff resistance and defeated it."
