Emergencies Service deploys helicopter on Friday to extinguish hard-to-reach focal points of fire near Ichnia ammo depots
As of 13:00 on Friday, fire aviation of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergencies consisting of two AN-32P aircraft continues discharging water within the army arsenal in the Ichniansky district of Chernihiv region, where a fire started on the night of October 9, followed by detonation of ammunition, and to extinguish separate parts, a helicopter has been attracted.
As of 13:00 on Friday, the aircraft carried out 10 water discharges (80 tonnes) within the arsenal, and a total of 54 water discharges (432 tonnes) have been made from the beginning of rescue fighting, the press service of the State Emergencies Service said.
"A Mi-8 helicopter has been attracted to extinguish individual fires outside the arsenal, access to which is restricted for ground forces, 1 discharge of water (4 tonnes) was made," the report says.
