Volker says no plans to meet Surkov

U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker has said he has no plans to meet Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov.

As for my meeting with Surkov… There is no planned meeting. I would like to have a productive conversation the next time we meet, Volker was quoted as saying on Thursday during a telephonic briefing.

Volker last met with Surkov in Dubai on January 26, 2018. The sides then did not agree on the law on aspects of local self-government in Donbas, Interfax reported. No concrete agreements were made. It was the fourth meeting between the two.
