MPs propose stripping Povaliy, Lorak, Kirkorov of 'People's Artist of Ukraine' title
A group of people's deputies has proposed that the Verkhovna Rada appeal to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) with a recommendation to introduce personal sanctions against a number of cultural workers, depriving them of the title "People's Artist of Ukraine."
A respective draft resolution (No. 9156) on the application of personal sanctions was registered by a group of people's deputies headed by Will of the People group MP Yevhen Rybchynsky.
According to the initiative, the parliament may propose that the NSDC strip Ukrainian citizens Taisia Povaliy, Ani Lorak, Svitlana Loboda, and Vitaliy Kozlovsky, as well as Russian citizens, filmmaker Vladimir Bortko, singers Philip Kirkorov and Nikolai Baskov, of the title "People's Artist of Ukraine."
The explanatory note notes that the need to introduce such sanctions is caused by the anti-Ukrainian calls of these artists.
